Oct 11, 2006
Austin, TX - October 11, 2006 - Sonic Automotive, after careful review of major theft deterrent systems, has selected Phantom Footprints Security Label System designed by 3M exclusively for Innovative Aftermarket Systems (IAS) to market in Sonic Automotive dealerships.
"After extensive product due diligence, we determined that IAS' product best met our needs. The product is simple yet we believe that it will provide significant value and protection to our customers," said Sonic Automotive President and Chief Operating Officer Jeffrey C. Rachor.
Phantom Footprints Security Label contains a unique I.D. number and uses a patented technology to mark that unique I.D. number onto the vehicle's major sheet metal parts, such as fenders, hoods, doors, trunk lids and quarter panels. The labels imprint a "phantom image" of that unique I.D. number onto the part on which it is placed.Phantom Footprints are recognized by auto theft investigators throughout the United States.
"This is a major opportunity for us as we expand our existing relationship with Sonic into yet another exciting product line. We've enjoyed a great relationship spanning the last four years and look forward to delivering on our promises to all of their dealerships," said Bob Corbin, President, IAS.
